I was tempted but was well aware it would have been possible to shower people in the next field with a boot full of 2.6 and TC switched off so thought better of it

That would have given the campsite owner something to shout about , seriously though, they do get protective of their grass, it is so easy for cars to do a lot of damage when the fields are so wet.
