That is completly bl00dy unfair, and I don't swear.
Oh and before I get accused of being some kind of fashist, my Grandfather was disabled from the age of 23, so I grew up with a disabled relative living with us, so I do no the problems.

why ????

I fail to see why it's unfair.

When road taxes are getting punitive in the hope that it influences us able bodied people to use the public transport system why should those who have no option but use a car (and often a large one converted for wheelchair access, etc.) be included in that tax regime?

The increase does not worry me unduely....its an extra 20 quid a month thats all which lets be honest, in the grand scheme of things is bugger all!

[soapboxmode=on]
I do think its very wrong to tax something that was built 7 years ago, they should be targeting new designs not something that already exists. But, hence why its a greed tax and not an environmental tax.

In fact, from what I can see, none of these taxes are environmental ones as none of the revenue from them is used to reduce pollution, its all just ploughed into immigrants, dossers, MP's second homes and the monstrously in-efficient NHS.

We all kick up when these rises are announced and any ammount of protesting is not gonna change it.

We'll mostly all still be driving our beloved Omega's when this high rate comes in won't we .....Won't we?

Thinking about it  ... suppose there would be a point where I would say enough is enough  :( :( :(

Very true. Some fairly modest large family cars will be screwed by this too. You don't need much CO2 to be paying more under the new system.

I can imagine those with families large enough not to be able to fit into a Corsa, who get squeezed by this tax, will respond by ditching their second car and running a large family car for more miles per year, or one built before 2001. How does that reduce CO2 emissions, exactly?

i am so glad that my car is on a 99 plate. and only a 2ltr.

but as someone has said already its only an extra £20 per month. still too much though.

they should have said cars after 2005 that would have given families a chioce

I know that some familes have 4/5yrs old cars cos they can t afford to purchase a newer on! me being one of them! :( not that i want to get rid of my migg.

this country is fallin to peices. :(
