I just bought one of these bottles form a local shop £3

Has anyone used these and what do you think of them do they work at all or just a waste of money...

I was advised by my garage to use ...cat clean to reduce the emissions and it worked very well..around £15 well spent...got it through m.o.t.

Personal opinion ..... 

If any of these "increase fuel efficiency" items ACTUALLY worked, then every motorist alive would be using them ....

Burning fuel produces energy.
To move your car requires energy
The amount you move the car is the amount of energy you use
Therefore, you have to burn the equivalent amount of fuel

Adding anything to the fuel will NOT increase the amount of energy you can get out of it, UNLESS the engine was already running poorly (rich)

The omega engine actually monitors and adjusts the amount of fuel injected into the engine by means of the lambda sensors/ecu ... it matters not what you add to the fuel .. that cycle will continue.

so IMHO .. you have wasted your money ..... IF your engine was correctly serviced. If it was NOT correctly service it is POSSIBLE that a slight cleaning effect from the additive MAY improve things slightly.

The largest contributor to your fuel consumption is your right foot ......

True, I dont know why i bought it TBH but you see these things in the shops you think you want and when you get home you think why did i buy that    ... I probable will just put a bit at a time in as i never fill the tank to 50L as the bottle of that stuff says to do.

About the only thing that works off the shelf is diesel injector cleaner. Use it when you change the filter.

Forte petrol fuel treatment as an annual clean seems to help, particularly is using cheap supermarket fuel regularly

Used various different bits and I'm 99% sure they do absolutely naff all. Agree with Entwood totally. Forte is supposed to be the best, however, it's never done nothing for me. Used Redex in something all that happened was it ran like shit after.

Found regular use (1 - 2 x per annum) of Wynns Injector Cleaner works well.

I used to use Forte in my petrol cars about once every 18 months or so.  As I only have LPG cars now, they get no treatment.

Diesels can certainly benefit, esp as supermarket diesel is pretty poor.
