A woman who has lived in Acton has written an article in the DT today on how the area has changed. What do you think of this?

London has its moments

people moaning about Romanians comming here on mass next year, i thought they were already here as they are at every road junction offering to clean your windscreen,

Muslims bleating on about booze but most corner shops in the east of the crapital are run by them & religion seems to go out the window when cash is involved

drunken east europeans just seem to pass out anywhere, have nearly run 2 over so far this year as they sleep in the middle of the roads

high streets which used to attract shoppers from all over are now pound shops & charity shops

had a couple of paramedics live down our street, they had of enough of London & went to work in Dorset, back within 8 months as they couldn't handle picking up fallen pensioners all day long

you also look after your tools more because if you come in for a cuppa they not be where you left them

most people who moan about London either don't live there or are about to move on

and we have the worlds biggest car park surrounding us so not all bad  :(

Focuses on Muslims though, my flat is in North Acton. If I walk about 3 mins from front door & turn down a particular road. Who would you guess owns 99% of the houses?

The Japanese!

They have a Private School down there, nearly every house is owned by them. The big houses easily cost over 1 million, yet in South Acton there are high rise flats.

Areas can change with each street, Acton is just same as any other area really.

That is so true! :y :y

I love London, as a place to work and live, and always have as my mum and her family were east enders.  Love the excitement and vibrancy of the place, and when I worked there the diversity was fantastic.

As for people (white's) moving out en mass, well what happens then; the multi-culturel people move in to the empty housing that has gone down in value as so much is available suddenly. Then the area becomes multi-cultural beyond some white people's idea of perfection, and more move out who cannot enjoy it!

So, who is at fault, if anyone, for Dutch Quarters, China towns, Asian Quarters, Islamic Quarters, etc, etc, etc?

It has happened throughout British history! ::) ::) ::) :)
