Renault Florence(I think its called that) is cheaper than the leaf and uses similar drive train, saw a test on it somewhere and they reckon its one of the best :y

Sorry Doz,we've wandered off topic a touch :-[

I will never buy a French car ever again.

Yes, sorry Doz :-[

Leaf is a Nissan/Renault collaboration :-\

Don't Renault have a 51% controlling stake in Nissan these days, in fact?

So, that's Renault who can't make a vehicle electrical system where the wires don't chafe on something and short out, coupled with a battery that'll cause the China Syndrome if the wires chafe on something and short out. What could possibly go wrong? ;D

Well the car performed great. I did an awful lot of running around the lanes while I was down in Cornwall and I got 33 MPG (by calculations) to a tank/ On the run home Saturday evening I had a good run back to Southampton and sticking to the speed limits I managed 38 MPG. As my run to work is normally done at around the 40-60 range I hope to get a tank average of 40 MPG. Car is amazing and a worthy successor to my Omega being extremely comfortable. Being able to change suspension setting on the go to suit your mood is good fun. So I'm a very happy bunny.

I fear they will be higher than the Omega. Tyres, brake pads etc I've already found some costings and they are higher. I do have the 19" wheels fitted so if you found one with the smaller rims then price will be lower. Also brake pad price seems to very greatly. With EBC's coming in with 150 for fronts and 60 for rears.Disc prices seem much more reasonable.

I went for the 18 inch wheels as you can get a full size spare in the boot. I paid £320 for a pair of new tyres on front and no other bills other than services - it is coming up to 4 years old and had it from new.
