Mr Omegaman is a touch confuddled ::)

V8 comes in several sizes from 4.7-6.2 litres in the Grand Cherokee

Regular Cherokee only came with the 4.0 straight six you mention, or a 2.5 four pot diseasel :y

:-[ Well that only means less Pros:  ;D :-\

They are a smidgen less unreliable than a Land Rover :-\

I beg to differ,my V8 disco has been much more reliable than my Grand Cherokee ever was.

Omegas break predictably...

Crank sensor 120k
HBV 80k
Front Wishbone bushes 120-150k
Cam cover gaskets/breathers 80-120k
Coil packs 80-120k
Scuttle leaks 80-120k
Steering idler 120-150k

Nothing too strenuous there :y

My original MV6 wishbones were shot when I bought it at 88k. TBE's at 60k. Same with idlers....

A combination of poor geometry and abuse :-\

Might just be that the Plod set up is a bit more durable :-\

They drink petrol in a different league, So I've been told, Plus 0-62 around the 10-11 second mark :o :-\

A 4.0 litre cherokee will keep an Omega honest to 60(around 8 secs) but your right about the fuel consumption :y

That's what AutoTrader say's  :-\, Parker's 9.2 Sec with 112mph top speed presuming its Auto and this type

These look better.

I have the second one in the photos but with the 2.7 Mercedes Turbo Diesel with matching Autobox, pretty quick if you want, just take the seasick pills if on a twisty country road..... :y :y

Used daily for work similar to a 2.2 Mig in fuel costs, comfy and high driving position suit me nicely, leather which I hate is only fault imo. Ignore TB off road comment, the Jeep is very competent off road and coped with floods and snow last winter extremely well.... :y :y

Thanks for comments good and bad  :y Looking for tow vehicle so something with a bit of grunt and capable of towing cars only . It wont be being slung into corners F1 style  ::) Fuel consumption not a problem as it will get LPG ... the car in question has been pulled for what ever reason but there are a few with lpg .. Im sure this one i was watching was a V8 and didnt know they did a straight 6 which seems to be the preferred engine . Whether its good enough to tow is another question but then there is the diesel lump to look at also  :-\
Maybe a different 4x4 would suit better for towing  ;)
