front two tyres have gone bald!!!!

Any change in your steering needs the tracking redone by a specialist s 4 wheel slignment.  Try Nigel Langs in Bolton. They did mine a couple of months ago.
If you mention OOF they'll give you a discount. I think I paid about £75.00. Cheaper than a set of tyres.

Is this situation of the complete tread on both front tyres " evenly  worn" off completely in a 2/3 months

 not a tad "unusual " ? :-\ :-\

I of course bow to those oofers who know their steering & suspension inside out  . . BUT . . .

I would have thought that any sort of  set up discrepancy would have led to at least some sort of "uneven" wear  :-\ :-\

Would incorrect tracking Scrub the complete tread off "Evenly" ?

Out of curiosity  . . . I'd like to  ask the OP how the old tyres he replaced were worn ? :-\ :-\

and was the track rod work carried out by a garage with the tracking reset afterwards?

Although we oof members know that a full geomery set up is vital on the omega , bear in mind this guy may not :-\

And quite likely the the garage that carried out the work ( if thats the case) does not either  ::) ::)

The tread is completely flat to touch, there is very little tread you can feel. The tyres were new as I remember they were spotless and had very deep grooves in them and had lots of white paste on the wall.

I'm not sure if the garage did tracking on it, so I'll ring them tomorrow. I'll also post some pictures and show you the extent of the damage.

Have they been nicked? I'm not sure to be honest, the back two look fine and if was going to nick some tyres I would theoretically steal the back ones as it would be easier to lift the back end because there's no engine. And anyway it is locked with a funny plastic key kept in the glovebox with the metal circles on them

And anyway if the tread is worn evenly on both and not on an edge then maybe they are simply rubbish tyres. I'll note the brand tomorrow.

Thank you for the speedy help guys

Are you sure no-one has nicked your wheels? It happened to my son's Sierra a few years ago, swapped all 4 for rubbish.!

Mmmm just what I was thinking it is very strange that they are worn right across the tyre surely if track was out then sides would be worn and some centre tread left.  :-\

Completely even wear sounds like badly worn tyres that have been on the rear. :-\ :-\ :-\

As mentioned...Nigel Langs in Bolton will find and fix the problem.  Highly recommended

What if the problem is simply two worn out tyres? Badly made batch with an uber soft compound. I feel that any issue with tracking bad enough to completey scrub tyres would result in cords visible before the rest of the tyre wore away.

Might be worth going back to the tyre place if you still have the receipt?

Take your MOT to prove you havn't done interstellar mileage since they were fitted (assuming you havn't) and they might do a free tracking/alignment check.  :)

Makes sense to me.
Ring trading standards first because you can bet life that if its a faulty batch then somebody else would have complained  ;)
Then have a word with the garage  :)

We don't even know how many miles you've put on these tyres yet. Or what brand and wear rating. Cheap Chinese tyres wear away at an alarming rate anyway.
