Thanks for the welcome, caution for Jimbob
« on: 17 June 2008, 11:28:29 »

Firstly, may I take the opportunity to thank the many people who welcomed me to the Forum

It was especially nice to hear from Lizzie, being a woman.

I've owned several Omega's think they are fantastic cars, and I'm sure the Forum will be of a big help to me, with its blend of technical knowledge chat and humour.

I don't appreciate school boy humour Jimbob, please in future keep comments like that to your self

You have a pussy cat as your avatar!
If you want to misinterpret peoples friendly comment surely thats your problem and you should remove your mind from the sewer!
Just an observation!

:(  No offence meant, but you cant come on a male oriented forum with an avatar like that and not expect some banter  :y

On a more serious note - this seems to be a double post of what's in the newbies section...

Thank you for your very kind and understanding comments, I am broad minded and have a sense of humour, but if you want to get more women members on the Forum it is reasonable to expect that they be treated with some respect.

I love your fighting spirit Jelly!

However, as Debs (The Brains!) points out there is a lot of banter, and we all give as good as we take in the General Chat section. Jimbob didn't mean any harm, he was just doing what any man does best! I would advise you to just look through some of the old threads under this heading to see what we mean!

This site is great for its socializing as much as the tremondous advice on motors!  You just need an 'open mind' at times, bearing in mind that 98% of the membership is male!

Is it just me .. or does trying to dictate who says what and where on your first day on the forum seem just a teeny weeny bit .... shall we be polite and say "ambitious" ???

May I kindly advise you NOT to read ANY of the jokes published in "General Chat" ... from your quote .. you won't appreciate them .. :)

Sod Jokes, try any posts!

She claims to like the humour on this site.....

Must have been very selective when reading before joining!

This forum is filled with humour, banter, schoolboy humour, piss taking, downright abuse!

It is all tounge in cheek and is what makes this place as friendly and entertaining as it is.

I am sorry it has come to this so early on. If you remember i started by thanking everyone for their kindness, and then at the end just said I felt offended by the comments of Jimbob

Remember these are the very first words he said to me and was well aware of their meaning.

Some of your tone especially Mrs Bump aren't nice at all. And are unhelpful to new members
