Bought car in 2004 16,000 miles, presumably original springs.

Replaced by dealer in 2008, 32000 miles. Charged £320.00

I replaced them today, 53000 miles.

But, being fair to Tunnie for some reason I don't know why, is there any reason to ebelieve Vauxhall spring quality has changed over the years?

But how many have bought springs from dealer? Not factory fit...

Across board many have reported poor life across GM hardware, if we were in 2006, yes I would buy them, along with exhausts 

So don't buy the substandard post foctory genuine parts nonsense for a second... especially not for significant components... exhausts, bushes and shocks are arguably consumables anyway

Exhausts have clearly changed and dipped in build. As far back as 2008. No longer clamshell. No chrome tipped tail pipe, back box is a complete and utter different shape.  Comapred to factory one taken off. 

They are not the same as per factory build.

But clearly you love to put people down an agressive & personal manner, calling people idiots and saying what someone is trying to say as non sense.

That's impressive, two sets of genuine springs in six years and 21,000 miles

Makes you wonder if the correct ones were fitted

How do you know how bullit proof they are? All you've fitted is cheap after market tat on guess work and rumour. This is how OOF legends start Tunnieincemmode. Get some first hand experience and stop taking the question as your own.

The purpose if this thread, Mr don't use pattern parts is, to discuss exactly that. Are vx springs any good. Originally, yes without a doubt, bar a few self levelling failures. But they are thin wobbly springs as we know.

Now, as I said earlier, are the replacements if the sane or similar quality? Certainly non issues with the mv6 ones I have fitted to both my cars.

Errr cause we had 2 Omegas from new...both PFL and FL. Mine came with genuine.

As for cheap tat, have words with Mr DTM as he recommend KYB when I first started DIY work. So you can get off your high horse on that one.

I use the term quite carefully as one of your own Tunnie.

Seriously, it's a bit odd banging about pattern parts as a no no one minute, then refusing to accept vx the next, and then when questioned say, oh oh well it's gaskets and sensors really.
 Then it's all the fault of Dtm even though they where never an oe supplier and neither did he present them as such. Oem spec is not oe supplier.

...and apparently not being on a high horse at the time. Ah you trippin or is home life getting a bit heavy these days?

Originals 32000 miles/6 years

Set fitted by dealer in 2008 marked LP130 lasted 21000 miles/6 years

Fitted KYB yesterday, will wait and see.

Dealer suggested instead of replacing with two genuine springs for £498.00 he could just replace the broken one with a pattern part for £156.00

Have replaced a couple of springs on a Vectra C, alot less substantial than the Plod ones on the Omega.

Only found during a pad change, and not obvious on a passing inspection as snapped at the first coil and therefore obscured by the wheel during an MoT. Should add that was front springs

Mk3 Mundeos are prone to front spring failure, which, due to their shite design, drop and shred the tyres not an issue that Omega or Vectra suffer from...

yep these were both snapped at the first coil as well

I should imagine that it could be down to the number of potholes that we encounter as to how long our springs last.
