There are plenty of alternatives to the 'Big 3' in the world of breakdown insurance, but of course the only way to tell if they're any good or not is to break down!  ::)  ;D

Since being in a breakdown service, I've never called them. I've always towed myself home, or fixed it.

So you may as well go with the cheapest then.  :y

I pay £18ish premium with these guys, there's a £40 excess if you call them out, but you can pay a higher premium with no excess.  ;)  I did have a personal/any car policy for a while with them which was about £60.  :)  Whenever I've called them out they've been with me within an hour and they relayed my Merc from South Wales to Dorset once without any arguments.  :y

Some of them are alternatives in the same way that setting the car alight and crawling 200 miles home on your hands and knees is an alternative. Although that would be quicker and less painful in certain cases.

Going online, they won't do my MV6 due to age.  This is why I generally need the Personal type cover, rather than car cover.

Has AA reached "The" status as well then?

What does this mean? Special admin service, or something? I'd of thought THE Dtm would of qualified first tbh. :-\
