Actually you do have an oil cooler... sits between the filter and the block and has two coolant pipes connected to it... ::)

I would probably stick to cooking :-*
Fair enough. I thought the one mentioned before was to do with the auto gearboxes.
Everyday is a school day.  ;D
Nope, Omega Manuals have Oil Coolers.

No one would tell you why it wasn't a good idea to stick your dick in a mincer. If you don't know, you don't know.  ;D
This one I do know  ;D please enlighten me as to why it's not a good idea using an egg.
You're be telling me to put Golden Syrup in the Oil next to cure a failed Oil Cooler
Thats not one I heard of, I don't have a oil cooler but I'll bear it in mind. :D
I'm not knowledgable enough to explain it to you, but I know someone who is. He'll probably pick up on this sometime next week. Get you tin hat out.  ;D
Ah, keep up STEMO, Its very simple, as the oil heats up, it thins the viscosity of the Golden Syrup, meaning the syrup flows easier around any possible oil leaks, as the syrup seeps through the cracks in the oil cooler it amalgamates meaning when the engine cools the Golden Syrup crystallises and thus forms a solid long life seal.  :y

Does wonders for the Cam lifters as well.  ;D

Would this be similar to adding sand to the oil to enhance a port and Polish?  :D

Are you sure, Al? My 2.2s have a cooling coil around the oil filter top, but there is no similar coil on this 2.0GL. I don't believe 2.0s have oil coolers.

The one facelift 2.0 16v I had the dubious honour of owning briefly had one...

Wouldn't go sticking an egg in it either way ;D

lol yeah that's kinda what I meant. let me rephrase...

don't all cars have a cooler for the engine oil that has coolant running through it to cool said oil? when I service peoples cars I notice that usually theres an assembly with lines coming from it around the oil filter area. I always assumed this was the oil cooler and that all cars had one.  :-\

Anyway....there's one important point you're all missing here. Six large eggs are worth more than an omega of this vintage.  ;D
