Probably something to do with the fact you'll get about 15 gallons per mile and the VED is £500 per year for what is a fairly ordinary car.  ;)

Hmmmm.......155mph, where exactly? 0-60 in 6.5s, very good, if you want to spend all your money on petrol. 25 year old stunner...no need to comment, really.  ;D
As for the looks you keep complaining about, I don't mind the way it looks at all, even if it is just a vectra with a fat arse.  :)

More chance of sitting in my passenger seat than yours. ;D ;D

With a remap 300 BHP and 400 pounds of torque....all through the front wheels though. :-\

Nobody gives it a second glance .....which I like. :y

This - mine has been, probably only around the 280bhp mark but its got a shed load of torque over standard

I will acknowledge it is a bit of a nightmare in the wet for the TLGP even with an auto box  ;D

They don't all cost £500 a year RFL, mine is an 06 plate and costs the same as my 3.2 Omega, it doesn't drink silly amounts of fuel, in nearly 9k miles in the last 6 months its averaging 24.2mpg, bearing in mind mine is a daily driver and I drive in and out of London in a lot of stop start traffic, that to me is more than acceptable, be a girl and that could easily be nearer 27mpg.

Its very similar to sit in and drive to the Omega, but considerably quicker than the 3.2.

I previously had a 3.2 Signum and that was quicker than the Omega, same fuel economy but for the cost I would not bother just get the 2.8.

Same goes for the 2ltr turbo, 180ish bhp as standard is a little weedy for a car that weighs about 1600kg - depending on spec - hence why quite thirsty.

The 2.8 turbos are cheap because of the scare stories over Insignia and Vectra VXR 'chain stretch'. Its quite rare, and there is no correlation between age, millage, tuned or not and the problems - worse case scenario a set of chains and oil pump can be done for less than £1100 independently up to £2k from a Vauxhall dealer

Does put quite a smile on my face driving, it will give 330/ 335 BMWs, ST Focus, R32 Golfs a run for their money, and when de badged most people don't have a clue what it is

According to the trip computer, which may or may not be accurate, the readout shows 27.3 MPG over the last 7000 miles. There are quite a few longer journeys included in this figure though.

I'm currently thinking of a 'tuning box' as opposed to a remap. This can be removed when the car is sold and used on another car.

Snake oil?

At £359 it is not cheap though.

Bluefin by Superchips.

Removable when you want, handset is also a basic code reader, you download a copy of your map currently on the car, send it to them, they then send you the new one back.

After over 30k miles its been reliable, but you may need new/ re gapped spark plugs and it will highlight coil pack deficiencies

Well worth the £300 they occasionally discount them out for including a K&N filter - Ebay or Demon Tweeks is your best place to look
