CHIPS you really cant beat CHIPS salt and vinegar on them :y

Yeap lovely CHIPS are :y :y :y

....and plenty of salt and vinegar for me! :y :y

As for price  Lk it is reasonable considering we are still consuming cod when the quoters have been so restricted. :(  Supply and demand of the free market I'm afraid.

I agrree in one sence.

But when you go into tesco's at 11:00pm and see loads of prawns and Salmon Sarni's going cheap I think a lot of the problem lies with them and not the consumer.

But that is the point; these are in plentiful supply, so the wholesale prices, and thus retail prices, are low to reflect this and ensure demand remains high to clear stocks due to excess production.  The consumer will always react to  price, availability and quality, unless it is cod or petrol that they insist on buying almost regardless of price! :D :D ;)  The supply chain reacts in turn to consumer demand.  No demand at whatever price; no sales, so therefore no stock required. :(

How on Earth did she find a tuna that had just been caught in Huntingdon - it's nowhere near the sea.  And a whole tuna is a lot of fish - several kilos or tens of kilos.

Are you sure you don't mean trout? :)

EDIT:  AArgh - you got me - you wrote somewhere else that your wife was 6000 miles away.  You fooled me! :(
