Wifey's new motor: 2015 Hyundai i30 1.4 SE "Nav"
« on: 05 March 2017, 19:43:02 »

Took this motor for a spin on Saturday. She fell In love with it. Got to be honest I did too. Buggers got a mere 6k miles on it. She's very excited as she's never had a nearly new motor before (neither have I) and she got a good deal on it. We collect it Thursday.

So naturally I have questions about it. Has anyone had experience with this Hyundai 5 year warranty? The guy made it sound like things like brakes and wear n tear items were covered  :-\ I personally thought that's got to be wrong. She got it from the dealer.

I friend's missus has an i10 with 7yr warranty. Doesn't cover wear and tear, and I *think* it stipulated Hyundai servicing...  ...though I'd be interested in the legalities of that.

Cheers guys. Yep 1.4 petrol (I wont let her have a diesel lol).

Wifey has a 4 year finance contract. And to keep the warranty e you have to have it serviced with genuine Hyundai parts. However their service schedule is 20k miles which is ridiculous in my mind so "I'll be doing something about that" lol however that means it only needs one stamp in the book based on her annual mileage to keep it going.

It's such a nice motor. A far cry from the Hyundai Accent  ;D

From the mid 90s. Cheap and cheerful motoring. Whereas now, Hyundai charge a premium because its a "brand".

Back in the mists of time I feel sure my sister owned a Hyundai called 'Pony'

From memory it wasn't great but things have moved on since then.

I quite like the Genesis.

I think "maintaining momentum" in anticipation of a hill would cover it.

Sadly I didn't anticipate the cops under the next motorway bridge. 135 km/h in a 120 limit and a 250 rand fine (sub-£20). Bargain. :y

Had my Hyundai nearly 5 years (2005 model) bought with 25,000 miles now showing 60,000 a good workhorse, had a new alternator about a month ago genuine Hyundai one was £518 so went for an exchange at £180.Apart from that just regular service items. Don't think you can go far wrong with them.

Not sure little bro would agree, the amount of hassle his Hyundai attempt at a 4x4 has caused him.  Though we're getting there...

Trouble is, its a Santa Fe, and UK support for them is dire.

Yes have heard about problems with the Santa Fe before guess I've just been lucky with mine, probably keep it another 3 years till I fully retire might consider a Jeep or Shogun next.
