It's so common that it has an official name: the Doorway Effect. Going through a doorway has much the same effect on your short term memory as waving a magnet across an etch-a-sketch; leading to asking yourself questions like why did I come in here? where's the rest of this? who am I? is that dog friendly? etc

Funny conicidence, my dad had asked to watch the film Conclave....had him round for dinner yesterday and we watched it....and today Conclave for real!
