Terry "superlungs" Reid. 75.
The Superstar who hardly anyone has heard of.
Famous for turning down the job of lead singer with Led Zep, before Robert Plant got the job. That isnt strictly true, but he was a great singer / songwriter, guitarist who was always just one more stroke of bad luck away from global success.
Micky Most deliberately sabotaged his career early on, and he never really seemed to recover from it.

These guys tend to do much better in life as a result... Terry was no exception  ;)

Dave Mustaine, kicked out of Metallica just before their first record deal went on to form the not too shabby Megadeath.

Likewise, Pete Best, the original drummer of the Beatles and turfed out because he made the others feel inadequate. Did very well for himself as a session drummer and had a much better life than the rest of them combined.

He offered Deke Leonard of Man a place in the new Motohead lineup but he said nah, I don’t think there’s a lot of call for what you have in mind🤣🤣
