Tell you what, these Russians do come across as effing stupid people, and I don't just mean the ordinary grunts, but their commanders. Especially their commanders.
Two things caught my eye today.
Russian troops have pulled out of the Chernobyl exclusion zone after a 'significant' number of troops have come down with radiation sickness after digging trenches in the forests around the nuclear plant. Apparently 7 busloads of seriously ill soldiers have been taken to Belarus for treatment. I doubt the ordinary grunts even knew where they were or the consequences, but their commanders?
At about 6am today in Belarus there was a motorway pile up in poor wet conditions when a Russian military convoy stopped on the motorway, and parked up with no lights on or anything warning people of their parked trucks. A civilian Belarussian truck driver died when his truck was the first to hit the convoy with several vehicles piling in after.
