That's obviously a rhetorical question as you're a reformed character but there's a bit of a pattern...
That said, if two wheeled people can swerve around irregularities on the road, why can't cars? The Highway Code is a bit conflicted on this as the implication is that car drivers should be reading the road far enough ahead to plan for and avoid obstacles with ease, especially if following at a safe distance and speed. Yet Moto/bicyclists are allowed to swerve on a whim and everyone else has to allow for it.
Surely the insinuation with that is the riders are travelling too close or to fast to safely react to the road ahead?
Very narrow, winding, single track road, limited options for moving about - probably less that 18", and only 0.5 to 1s of hard braking before having to release to leave some suspension travel for the pothole.
The choice of potholes to hit in about a 1.5m stretch was very generous, so I decided to let the OS take it this time, as the NSF in particular has had a pounding in the last few months
Aside from that set of potholes, the lanes on Skye were great fun - empty, narrow, bendy but great visibility to see any wildlife and cars (there weren't any!), I almost forgot I was reformed
