Had an early morning appointment in Birmingham today, so got a nice deal on a four star hotel for the night and went up yesterday.  :y

My schoolboy error though was that the hotel is just inside Birmingham's Clean Air Zone. So I drove about 50 metres in the zone to the hotel car park yesterday. £8 please! And drove the 50 metres out of the zone this morning. £8 please!  >:(

Effing green nazi bastids!!  :-X        The hotel was nice though.........   ::)

Bane of my life here in Spain. Every town over 100k residents has to have one.

Just been to Seville and managed to avoid their ULEZ. The tourist office was very helpful.

We were in Benidorm ( very nice) in May and had a narrow miss. Was going to drive along the seafront but didn’t. That is a low emission zone …..

Talking of which, the ML has just popped up on the ULEZ system.

Still, at least it's more economical than TPC ;D

………

A while back I got a ULEZ/Congestion Charge fine for entering a zone in London, in one of my vehicles.
I contested it as I’ve never ever driven to London, and whenever I have been to that infernal place I’ve travelled by train. Anyway, the threat of bigger fines, court etc. arrived for non payment …….. until I proved that the car had left my ownership over two years before the date on the fine. Funnily enough, I didn’t hear anything after that.  ::)  Still curious how it was still registered in my name over two years after change of ownership though.  :-\

Talking of said odious Khunt, came home to 2 PCNs >:(

Expecting 2 more :-X

I did check each day to see if the system said anything and paid the previous journey the day it updated and also the auto-pay 'dangle berries'.

I could probably argue the toss, but the system is clearly set up to fist you. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to run a registration number and it tell you if you need to pay rather than waiting a week to bill you.

Khunts the lot... But shouldn't get anymore surprises.

PayPal - yet again.

I send regular payments to someone and every now and again PP blocks me sending to them.

Other payments have been fine but just have a wait a while for the inconvenience to rest and allow payment. :-\

I am not a fan of Paypal.  Afterall, they have effectively sealed OOF's fate.

But as a responsible financial institution, they do have to check/hold/block suspicious payments.  Even Western Union do.

I fully understand that But they allow me to send maybe £2000 one day and then deny £100 the next day to the same person.  Bit random in the way software works.  Got there in the end.
