Well I was going to say I am fitter at 70 than most of you but then my back went out , now on painkillers just to make it into the living room. I need to look at why the Austin/Omega wont start before the wet weather starts as it is in the car park at the flat and I should only be using one parking space.

Ours has spent much of the summer running around the garden chasing me so it can shag my Crocs.  ;D
Bites my fingers ate every chance too, as thats how they pull a mate.
Bite it until it pulls its head and legs in, then run around the back and climb on.
They are actually fascinating things if you take the time to observe them. Not boring at all.

100 is a hell of a good innings !
Must be a decent size too ?
Ours was 97 grams and a year old when we got it five and a half years ago. Its now about 550 grams.

We were stupid to buy a year old Tortoise in our 60,s. It will more then likely live for decades after we are gone.
It seriously worries me, what will become of it after that.  :(

I doubt it will notice you have dropped off the perch, and care even less.

That's tortoise gratitude for you. ;)

I suspect our ol' slug (Dad's pet name for the thing, usually after it had run riot over his veg patch ;D) was spoilt more, to the point of having a large, walled lawn made for it, and a proper summer house for him ;D

Between them, a nameless quack at the surgery who I have never seen and the pharmacy.  >:(

It's bad enough to need the little blue pills, but to be fobbed off with generic shite when you're prescribed branded is an oppsing liberty :-X

Nice to hear of another one being well cared for.

We have allotments at the end of our garden where rats thrive, so were nervous about letting ours roam free in the garden.
Also a bit worried that the huge Red Kites that fly over all the time might take a shine to it.
So its gets an hour or two supervised play in the garden in warm weather, but otherwise it has its own playpark I built for it complete with a large cold frame for soaking up the heat at one end, and a wooden house to shelter from the sun if it wants to at the other.
Lots of healthy food grows in there too, so it can munch on the move.

Just after being built, before toys and furniture were installed.  :)

Has since had an extension added which allows it to view the whole garden and have a play on the grass.  ;D
