.......
Its very telling in my road that many had EVs, now there is not a single EV in the road. Some have even had the EV chargers removed, so clearly not planning on getting another any time soon.
..........
Yep, I think the fascination of owning an EV has been a passing fad that is now over. The government are kidding themselves regarding sales but the car manufacturers actions tell us otherwise.
Volkswagen :
Has cut EV production and abandoned plans for a new German EV plant due to poor demand.
Ford :
Has deemed its goal of becoming an EV-only brand by 2030 too ambitious and is considering extending the availability of petrol cars.
Toyota :
Slashed its EV production plans and chairman Akio Toyoda believes EVs will not dominate the market.
Volvo :
Has ditched its plan to become EV-only by 2030.
Honda :
Recently scaled back its investment and sales targets for EVs due to poor demand.
Mercedes-Benz :
Has extended the availability of its internal combustion engine due to slow EV sales.
This is just a small example, there are many others with the same issues.
Infrastructure companies are holding back on installations as the uncertainty makes them nervous about over investing for something that may not succeed.
Doesn't exactly sound like the thriving market they'd love you to believe does it.

Car manufacturers have been put in an impossible position.
