Don't seem to have any skills at the moment. Out of work now for 4 months, soon be out of money, then out of home.
OK - I've been building large computer systems for large companies for 40 years. But through a combination of circumstances, all the skills I had are now out of date - even if anyone needed a Fortran programmer, it's so long since I've done that, I probably couldn't remember anything about it. Likewise C, Pascal and VAX/VMS.
I've just finished almost 5 years of logical design work on a major database using old versions of Oracle, and a not very popular CASE tool. The design was so good that they didn't need to change it any more, so they made me redundant. So I'm absolutely brilliant at transactional database design but I know sod all about Data Warehouses. Guess what the market needs at the moment!
- Smattering of Java/J2EE
- Reasonable but not comprehensive PL/SQL
- Minimal DBA skills - building, tuning, sizing but not production
- Team leading, project management but no Prince 2
- Estimating, problem solving, application design
- Report writing, product evaluation
I really hope the national lottery comes up!
Bitter? Twisted? Depressed?

Of course I am!
