Bl**dy MOT testers strike again!

Are MOT testers on a "Fail Rate Target"?

Put the QX in for the dreaded test, having checked it over and feeling fairly confident .... flaming thing failed !!!!!

I had removed all the Air Fresheners etc., too  >:( >:(

What's written on the fail sheet ? ............

"Rear number plate lamp flickers when you tap it"

At least it's only a new bulb but, Flamin' 'eck, what are these guys on ?????

Where my son was last week, he says they do have to do that as if the Ministry were to find out that they had passed it like it they can lose their license  :o TB's air freshner thing though was pathetic!
But it's like they said to my son last week they only go on what they have to do.

I suppose so ---- with a trivial thing like that there was a fair chance I could have been a ministry plant (cabbage ??? )

My garage would have just changed the bulb. When I went to get the meriva MOT'd, they changed a wiper blade and a front sidelight bulb to get it through.

That's just a get out clause for not wanting to use any common sense. 'My' tester has often given me the benefit of the doubt with the instructions to sort it later.  :y

They can be right arses!

luckly im good friends with my tester :)

he knows what ever it fails on will get repaired so it never fails :)

i will be buggered if he ever leaves! :(

The garage i use will fail your vehicle when there is something wrong, but as been mentioned by other members earlier the good garages use a bit of common and if its something simple they will change it ie bulbs, blades, mine even offes to change tyres once you give the go ahead!! find a good place and stick with them, been to the same chap for over fifteen years now, its all a trust thing!

unofficially, yes. they get visits from vosa if not failing enough.

anyone can get dodgy ones - I'm guessing I can get much cheaper than you can - but I'm not that irresponsible...
