I dont get on well with wet blade shaving, despite many try's brands etc.

also have very thick hair some shavers struggle with

Had Phillips
Braun
all been ok at best,
but my current one, which Ive been using a few years is a panasonic,

its great, works well, quite fast, use it dry....or wet with lather!
if it broke today, i would replace it with the updated model...

http://www.shavers.co.uk/shopping.php?product_id=815

somehow they are a hidden gem, not many know about them, which is a shame, as it think they piss all over the competition.

Flipping eck JB, for the cost of that I would hope it cuts grass and hedges as well.  ;D ;D

Yup, you didnt specify a budget though!

Ive tried cheap ones, and they dont work for me, had mine about 3-4 years now, so probably averages out cheaper than good gilette blades  :y

Biggest problem for me when I was shaving is that for ages I hadnt realised I wasnt shaving properly and would blunt or clog my blades within 2 shaves.  Now that I know how to shave properly I have allways had a beard. ::)

Mind you, my Girlfriend at the time using my razor never helped.

From being a teenager I used an electric shaver which were ok at best. When my last one died, I decided to try a wet shave and have never looked back. I get a much smoother shave for not much more time spent doing it.

I use a block of shaving soap, a badger hair brush to apply and a merkur futur, razor. The razor itself was expensive, but less than the leading electic shavers, but the blades are around £5 for a pack of 10 which last a long time so will pay for itself over time.

You should note that it will take around 6 weeks for your skin to become accustomed to shaving again so you will have to put up with a bit of a shaving rash etc
