While I agree with everything you say, I joined the Navy at 15 years old, we must remember one thing.
The yoof of today, that we are complaining about are still the minority element, unfortunately we rarely hear positive stories about our young people, this is not newsworthy, negative tales just help to increase the poor image and raise suspicion of all youngsters among the population...

Very true -- I would imagine the tales of the good youngsters do would far outnumber the bad --- but as you say --- the bad tales are more newsworthy for some reason!
