A Huge thanks to Mark for a great weekends work, plus the prework refurbing the heads.

Such a shame it ended like this, was driving beauifully.

back end nicely improved with the donut bushes too.

Cheers to Bog Roll as well, offering a car at no notice to help us out, just wasnt really practical in the end.

My father in law drove up the 100 miles in his Vectra estate to rescue us, and I drove it home.

To expand on the pre-problems....
Core plug had been weeping for about 3 years, radweld kept this at bay fine.
Few months back, coolant loos massively ramped up, and chemicals did nothing, and no visible leaks, just a big smell of antifreeze all the time.
Then fortnight ago, it blew a newish HBV, replaced fine,
then blew a coolant hose of the bulkhead, so developed an assumtion of over pressurising.  So run with a loose header cap for a while, and lost more after any 'hot' trip.
So heads off, gaskets not in great shape.
Combustion chambers were VERY good, due to good petrol and regular doses of forte cleaner....photos to follow on that.

So thanks again
a great weekend, good fun, hard work, but good fun and learning, just so sorry you need to do so much again  :'(

Still, if it had to happen, better someone you know at your house, than someone else at a remote cambelt party etc

I reckon they would go nicely on the pongs that hold plates upright....  :-X

The key is to ensure that all traces of car parts are removed before an old bag finds out  :-[

That was about what I thought it would be, but when I looked on map, it didn't look that far  :-/.  Guess the lack of direct roads doesn't help...
