I need it more than the person who lost it. They obviously don't need it or they wouldn't have lost it, they should be more careful.

I would retun it to the owner if possible. I would not hand it in to the Police though,for obvious reasons. :-*

not at all he knocked on my door and handed it back to me .....but had he not done so i would have been hunting him down with my hubbys 12 bore  ;)

i'd hand it straight in to the cops, it's not mine, i didn't earn it - i don't want it and if i ever lost £500 i'd hope it was turned in - no wonder Britain's gone to the dogs - what do you lot teach your kids to do??? >:(

Differing opinions, just because I and some others would do different whats that got to do with what we teach our kids?

Its not just a bag this is a M&S bag. ;D

If that was the case id have to think twice about handing it in as if they have the money to shop there then they wouldn't mis £500 as much as I would love them for losing it. But a very awkward situation to be in as I believe I was brought up to do the right thing so probably go looking for little john and use the money for good some how. I couldn't tell no one though that I had handed it in as wouldn't want the stick I would receive off some people.

I've had more than £500 stolen before, that never got returned why the hell why I return someone elses?
Never did happen to me, and my kids have been bought up properly and perfectly fine. Hardly ever been in trouble and they respect us. If someone loses £500 they can't want it that much.

It ain't yours, you did not earn it, so no right to keep it.  I would hand it into the Police and if unclaimed would then use it to spread a bit of happiness  :y

I would not like to keep it and have to think who had lost it and what the person did when they realised etc.

Last year I was driving along a Welsh back road at 50mph and just spotted a green fabric wallet in the grass on the verge, so stopped and went back for it.  It was full of cash and had no ID except an out of date gym card.  I googled the gym, rang them, asked them to get the member to call me urgently.
The owner called and she was ecstatic-she was on holiday a few miles away and the wallet contained her two weeks money she had saved for; she had been distraught for 2 days.

I have had many things honestly returned to me; what goes around comes around  :y
