I know that a 5 Series BMW is prob the nearest comparison to an Omega but my sister has a BMW 116 as a company car. It is only 18 months old now but has been back to the dealer on several occasions and is so UNRELIABLE it is unreal. Most of the problems have been electrical and it has been towed in by the AA twice. She has said that if it were her own car she would be very very unhappy!!
 :o

Any car can have that problem from new.

I knew of a guy whose Corniche broke down in its first week - timing chain issue

I personally bought a brand spanking Astra GTE 1/8/84 had so many probleams I sold it 8 months later to buy a new sylvia turbo and vowed newer again to touch vauxhall.

Come on now you can't be serious, that ugly sister is one of the most ugliest things I've ever seen. It's loud and vulgar.

You know how you get those people who get on their soap box because they don't own one  :y

Yeah i know those people. I also know those people who have one (whatever that may be) and think that what they have is so great, that everyone else wants one. Not the case at all. Are you suggesting I wish I had one? I would absolutely not want to be associated with the sickening badge snobbery of anything, least of all a BMW.I'm not on my soap box, explain what you mean by that. We are having a reasoned debate about cars, not silly tit tat about 'soap boxes'
I think there may be some "inverted snobbery"regarding badges going on here. ::) ;)

And Brikhead, why has an M5 got to be better than something that GM 'cobbled together? Define 'better'? Because it's faster? No.

Not just better performance wise, a better design, better built, better engineered, ergonomically better, better looking, better in every way. Excluding price...

So I would suggest that it is childish to not read posts properly then make incorrect comments on them.

Isn't that what you did with my post?

Not brainwashed no, but my unbiased opinions, from my many, many observations, is that most of the cars performing said acts, are BMWs. Personal observations, not brainwashed.

Nothing to do with the 3 series being the top selling, family saloon for several years, meaning there are shed loads on the road?

Anyways, I thought 'Audi' drivers were the cocks of the highway?
here hang on my wife has a A3----------no on second thouhts your quite right ;)

What  stupid thread with some very stupid ill thought out replies.

And why on earth would GM want to stick an inferior BMW M series engine in one of its cars.....just look at what they have in their own parts bin.

No Brikhead I didn't.

And Brikhead you say excluding price. Think I'll give up now what's the point in continuing when contending with illogical arguments like that?

Just been out for half an hour in the van on an errand.

1. Cut up by BMW undertaking, speeding and forcing me out of lane.

2.  Witnessed BMW blatantly go through red light, turn wrong way into one way traffic, nearly crash, then abuse other motorists.

Just in half an hour.

A disproportionately high number of RTCs I attend involve BMWs, which generally appear to be at fault (at least the drink driving one was who walloped the copper, as was the one who rear ended a transit at 100 mph, as was the one driving too fast and piled through some railings nearly hitting kids, I could go on.

Lets tar every BMW driver with the same brush and then complain about everything BMW. I'd lay money that there were many other bad driving incidents on your journey, but because BMW you have to talk about it. I saw an idiot in a Corsa this morning, reveresed into someone in a Murco garage, I in my BMW didn't reverse into anyone. That does it as far as I'm concerned! Now I think all Vauxhall drivers are idiots now.

You're wrong Del Boy. I'm not tarring them all with the same brush. As I said, a disproportionately high number of them are bad. Yeah you're right about other incidents on my journey, but ones involvong BMWs always seem to be the worst/most deliberate. As I said I've got nothing against them, they're lumps of metal after all, just prefer Vauxhalls and as already stated they aren't driven very well.
