Just got back from seeing him  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Has the worst brusing that I've ever seen - I'm talking several sq ft of black skin ....  :exclamation

Apart from that, it's a few days of monitoring to make sure that the internal bleeding has stopped and then its home for 4-6 weeks of recovery and parental TLC. He has asked for Lobster & steak for his first dinner when home - and will get it.

It was confirmed that he took a direct hit from the IED - but due to the angles etc, his pack and body armour (which was twisted!) he has got out of it rather unscathed. ALL his injuries will self heal.

Many thanks for all the virtual support, although I have never met the vast majority of you, your words have been most welcome at this time.

TTFN - Rob

What some people will do to get away from " boil in the bags". ;D ;D ;D

Seriously.  Glad for you he's back safely.
