MOT in the morning...
« on: 03 May 2010, 18:25:14 »

...starting to get that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.... only had one first time past in the last ten years or so, putting the odds against me.  :(
I know it's not going to fail on tyres, bodywork or exhaust, but potential areas are handbrake efficiency and front lower wishbone bushes...  :o
Lambda was close last year, but the exhaust was in poor shape (shiny new stainless job now), so think there was some air getting in there. No warning lamps or codes, so a quick Italian tune up on the way should help along!!! :)
Wish me luck  :D

Cheers, Mick - I do tend to be an optomist, so a handbrake adjustment or something like that I can live with  :y

Best of luck, just make sure its clean, ALL the lights work, the washers are hitting the screen and the wipers are clearing it efficiently.

Sounds silly and im probably teaching you how to suck eggs but when I was a mechanic our MOT tester told me that if things as simple as that were not sorted beforehand then he tended to look that little bit harder for other things that may be wrong.

Apart from doing all the necessary work, mainly rear brakes/handbrake clean adjust. I cleaned it inside and out, it looked really good pre MOT.
Passed of course :y
Yes I reckon if you take something in that looks dodgy they will try harder to find something amiss.

Well, it looks like the OOF streak of good luck (Pob Lwc in these parts) continues.... IT PASSED  :D :D :D :D

Small advisory on front disc wear, but they should be fine until the next pad change.

They said the handbrake was actually very efficient, the lever seems to travel a lot, but is well within tolerance. :y

The car was clean inside and out, so that probably helped along..... 13 months MOT now, Happy Bunny!!! :) :)
