Look at this air filter...

I was fairly surprised it was a GM one, so looked for a date stamp, is this a date stamp?

If that is the date stamp then am assuming its 2003 march 5.00pm

Possibly then it was the one fitted when the car was built.

So what do Vx actually do on a service then apart from charge upwards of £50 Per hour.   :-X

It depends what service you ask them to do.....and sadly most just do a basic one each time.

Which in this case never included an air filer
possibly never included an oil filter.

So whats on a basic service, top up the water bottle and blow up the tyres. :-/

Basic service is oil and filter plus an inspection

It just shows what an original car you have got
I wonder if the oil filter was original ::)

When I last used Hartwekks in Sheffield they had my Carlton in for an accident repair after some woman ran into the back of me.

Whilst there I asked them to fir a N/S headlight lends Part was £11 plus vat and the job booked at 39 mins @ £22 Per hour labour.  Needles to say the job didnt get done so Iasked for it to be done while I was there, told him I had been told of the cost, so off they went to fit it.

Was presented with a bill of £11 for parts and £22 for labour, on protest I told him the job quoted 30 mins labour, he then daid, that was body shop labour rates, workshop labour rates are £44.

I got the job at at £22 PH in the end, but it just shows how easy it is to get conned.

If you hae to use a dealer, say for new locks or trim, allways worth trying the body shop for a quote 1st.

100£ for an oil change
30£ for parts
70£for labour

One or the other but you have been charged twice there for an oil change, and both charged are excessive for an oil change.

You should have asked to see a manager.

Plus, why would warranty cover service items?  :-/

If Vx do it, I'll go buy an Insignia tomorrow.  Save me a fortune!  ;D

How can you tell when the filter was changed from the date stamp?  :o Naturally GM has produced a lot of filters with a certain date and you can still get new filters from GM with stamps from early 2000...
