Top speed (on a private road)

What is the top speed anyone has ever had in a road car on a private road that the public don't have access to and is not classed as a highway?

MR2 Turbo, stock apart from HKS induction kit, lowered suspension, decatted...135mph...

What has anyone else done out of interest?

Suprisingly in my 525i the other day on my race track. 154 MPH verified via GPS just over 155 on the speedo, had more to go in 5th around 6300 rpm, then I had 6th to contend with, but I wasn't brave enough, so then I bottled it, yet to try in my latest toy  ;D

This does prove though BMW's 152 MPH claim is bollards.

Astra Coupe Turbo 140mph was around the banked circuit at Millbrook, (built by Vauxhall at huge expense in the 1960s, then sold years later, presumably at a fair loss. Business-minded even then) was only a passenger though

You lunatic (in a nice way!) That's some speed! I would be scared! It'd be very interesting to see what your new toy does do!

It was scary (scarey)? I may have to take it out and see if the 155 limiter works  ;D

A friend of my dads ex boss has done silly speeds in cars - but they were racing cars, including Indycar ovals.

I haven't met him but my dad has :( :(

The fastest I have gone before chickening out, the car had more, was around 120mph in a Mitsubishi Galant on a 'private road'.... :-X

164 mph in a Senny 3 litre 24 valve, and a calibrated speedo.  Back in the early 90's before it was realised that speed on its own, killed children....   :-X

Plain white, no lights or sirens, just a wee yellow plate on the rear saying 'driver under training'.
