There, thats much better, thanks.

Lemforders are not worth the money

Is that better Mark?  Did you enjoy that?  ;D ;D ;D

Tbh, I bought, not expecting miracles, and hoping for the best of the aftermarket, with a view to polybushing once worn out....I expected that to take somewhat longer though.

So I wonder which ones VX are stocking as replacements, if not Lemforders. I seem to remember it was about £200 per side two years ago.

DLK examined my wishbones and they are shot ( OE, lasted 106,000 miles ) so no complaints.

I need to fit new before MOT and VX are wanting £420 a pair !

Lemforder takes a hammering on this thread, so what's the consensus please ? Do I buy a £50 pair and replace the front bush with Polys before fitting, or use the £50 pair as a service item and change anually ?
Are they a big job to change for a good mechanic ? An hours work to change a pair ?

Thanks for your anticipated advice.

Did Daz check all the the joints, or just the front?

If its just that one, and the others are ok, just poly that one on the car  :y

I believe they were both shot. I could only see the huge amount of play at the front as his pink overalls were dazzling me !!!

I have always used cheap ones from eBay and treated them as a service item but will probably poly the ones on the car in the not too distant future

Think it will be cheap e bay ones just to get it through MOT.

Lazydocker ....... Which seller do you use, or do you just see what's on offer at replacement time ?

The rear bush on the wishbone ....... Do VX carry them as parts and does it need an engineering press to get it in ?

Aim to keep the OE arms that are on the car and have them bushed ( poly on front ) ready to be fitted in a few months and throw the cheap ones away.

Thanks for reading.

The seller I was using has not been so reliable... The first set lasted longer than Jimbob's Lemforders did but the second set were starting to go at 8k... Pot luck really ::)

The rear bush does need pressing in IIRC but Vx do still stock them... There are probably cheaper options though. TBH, the rear bush doesn't take too much abuse so should last reasonably well with poly'd fronts :-/

Mark, didn't you also tell is that lemforders where the way to go, being the oe supplier etc etc...?
That logic seems sound to me, and what else is there if the rear bush has failed too, and accepting not everyone is in a position to press bushes themselves...?

If they are now nfg we should be chasing Jason up on it?

Although it's easy sitting here. I have BMW bushes in mine.

Simple, I bought a set 3 and a half years ago, after 18 months the bushes were showing signs of wear, at 2 years they were donald ducked to the point the off side got an MOT advisory.

Hence, 12+ months of saying they are not worth it, save your money etc to try to ensure others dont pay the considerable extra I did for no gains.

Ok, but as said, given most will not press bushes, and will want a complete unit, what else is there? :-/

Well I am not feeling so good now, as I am sure that Lemforders were recommended not so long ago. :-/ :-/ :-/

Well, until somebody says different I think they're still the ones for longevity. After two years, or however long they last, fit Polly when the front bushes fail. For an extra £35 are they ? ..., or however much Polly are.

Ok the rearward bush takes less stress perhaps, but I'd still want the best one in there possible, all assuming no press available of course.

Two years for lemforders is disappointing, but I still wouldn't fit anything else. As said,What else is there as a complete unit?

... Looking at it the other way, could say that's an expensive rear bush on a lemforder if that's all we are buying lemforders for. So what else has a rear bush that lasts as long?

Must admit I am confused on the u turn tbh.

I've always said that I thought Lemforders were over priced if you could change them yourself.

I was thinking to get a cheap set and poly the front before fitting but that depends what condition mine are in, as they had 4 new Vx bushes about 2 years ago ::)
