Really not impressed with a particular breakers.
« on: 08 August 2011, 18:08:14 »

Johnsons Vauxhall Spares have let me down!

I paid £69 for a bootlid that was described by email as no marks at all and complete, they wrapped the actual bootlid with tape, there are scratches all over it, the carpet is missing, there is rust by a light, there is a chunk of metal out of it (Only tiny) but annoying. So have emailed them with photo's to see what they intend to do about it.

I can bring the lid back up to a good enough standard but it's not on how it has arrived. And the problems aren't down to the courier lol.

I have included all the photo's I took of it.

Not good at all

(on a related note, why centre your posts?  it makes they very 'unreadable' compared to normal  :y  Human brain works best reading left to right, not trying to get a jumble in the middle)

Unlucky for me no my car isn't Z157 it is Z147 lol. And I have just bought an Elite lip spoiler for £16 including delivery from ebay in Z147 Colour. I love a bargain lol.

The boot lid in the pictures is going to be cleaned up as I have had a few people give me some suggestions on how to undo what the breakers did when packaging it.

I have sent an email asking what they propose to do about this. And my friend who used there credit card to buy it for me is going to use the credit card protection scheme where they will give him a full refund and then chase the breakers for the money owed if a reasonable solution is not offered. But I am very upset about this.

I will update this listing on any updates. But very disappointed and wont be using them again.

I think I would be asking for a refund, and returning the boot - Surely there must be another one about?

I am really not Happy, I have had to put to of the pictures into to my paint programme to put red circles over the obvious damage, Jason at Johnsons Vauxhall Spares is refusing to do anything about it at the moment. And I have spent the morning fighting with the sticky crap all over the bootlid that is going to take me several days to get rid of. Once my friend is back from the day out with his kids I will be telling him to phone his credit card company and do a charge back to get a full refund.  I have bought things from other breakers in the past that haven't been as described and as soon as I have sent a photo to show what was wrong with the item they have always said, return it for a full refund at their expense or offered me a partial refund.

For me to return the bootlid it will cost me £60 by courier plus the packaging as the breakers are over 150 miles away from me and the boot lid cost £69. I would be happy to take 50% discount and sort the lid out myself but am disgusted at the way this is being handled. I was even very very nice about the problems with the bootlid and feel like they don't give a damn as they have already got the money!  :o :o >:( >:( >:(

Now I have to go and repair my next door neighbours Corsa.  :( Although the repair means easy money for me!  :) But I am still charging more than 50% less than the cheapest quote he got for his clutch fault.

Google
de solv it sticky stuff remover
 - as used by London Underground to get sticky labels off their precious adverts.  Under a fiver and removes all sorts of stuff really quickly.  Citrus oil based so won't harm the paint.
 :y

That's if you decide to keep the boot lid.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I am keeping the bootlid, but hows this for unprofessional behaviour, they are denying it is damaged and simply said that a bit of petrol would take the sticky off. So I added red circles to point out the obvious damage, scratches and rust and now they are ignoring me completely! I am very very angry.  >:(

And to top it off this flaimin corsa clutch is really peeing me off as no where today that I went to in the 59 miles I drove have M7 Nuts!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

So I am going to try the bike shops tomorrow.
