Going to drill out the rivets on the ball-joints next. Anyone know what the correct torque is for the bolts on the replacement ball-joints?

Excellent  :y
Not impressed by the size of the three holes in the ball joint / wishbone. The bolts are 8mm, the holes in the ball joint about 8.5 and the holes in the wishbone about 9.5mm. Added together the balljoint steering centre could by anywhere in a patch about 8mm laterally and 10 or 12mm longitudinally.

Not sure whether to try and centre the bolts in the holes (by eye) or to pull the balljoint in the direction the suspension will pull normally  (ie away from the centreline of the car).

new ecu, 3.0 cams, 3.0 inlet installed.. inlet manifold and plenum polished.. will report results next week after dyno.. oil pump serviced..
Was yours a 2.5 (can't remember)?

A new ECU is not needed for the 3l cam upgrade, BTW.

yep..mine is 2.5.. I installed a 3.0 ecu from a manual.. I have plans to install a 3.0 crank and play with the bore diameter.. (and rods)

but not sure about a custom ecu and forced induction.. yet.. ;D

will try a bimmer lsd as I cant find omega lsd here and importing is next to impossible with an unnecessary huge price tag.. unless a friend brought here directly.. :-\

ps: car goes better with 3.0 ecu  ???  even without 3.0 cams ;D   may be later lambdas will trim :-\

I put new seals on the delivery valves on The Merc's injector pump today.  It was leaking quite badly and leaving a slick of diesel in the morning!  ::)

Hopefully the fuel economy and performance will improve as I won't be leaving a trail of diesel behind me....  :)

Drove it to the Essex meet and back, via Johnnycboy's house. Realised it was a bit grubby :-[

Oh... And stuck £20 petrol in because I was fed up with the light ::)

just put a nice brand spanking new engine earth lead on her, ran it right round to back of alternator bolt too so no resistance through engine block, 14.2v charging and stopped my fantom overheating on temp guage too--result
