Changed the thermostat finally  ::)

Yet another excellent guide, thanks to Daz and TB :y have a couple, or three, of things to suggest for it though...

1. Should have a NWS, The videos contain actual Rick Ghastley :o had forgotten about Dazzles love of all things pink ;D

2. The Bastid bolt was a piece of piss. The Tuesday hose clip wasn't  >:(

3. No suggestion of how many bits the thermostat/transfer pipe can come out in...

Cleaned the breathers out whilst at it, as the bridge was just starting to show signs of sooting up, pipes still nice and clean, and throttle body degunged too 8)

Swapped the two electric water pumps around so the radiator should now behave as it should. Ran upto temp find, temp gauge now goes above 75° so I have heating. Reconnected the vac pipe from the front multiram, so all in all, the fuel economy should improve, and I won't freeze ;D

Heater matrix can wait, pipe joints seem dry, so looking like it will need a new one :-\
Another positive find was that the Oil Cooler plate and Coolant Bridge joints are all dry :y

And this is why I'm still putting mine off... ;D

All I did yesterday was fill it, stick it through the car wash and drive it from Bracknell to Solihull, to West Heath hospital, Birmingham, back to Solihull and then back to Bracknell. Made it back with just enough fuel to do a commute run today..

Still stinks of burning oil. So that hasn't magically fixed itself yet.. ;D

It takes a while to burn six litres of oil one drop at a time ::)

Ah, so the smell of oil on mine isn't a leak, but a bit of spilt oil? Excellent :P

 ;D mine still smills of wd40 from the breather clean ::)

Heater and temp gauge both working as expected, and no Coolant warning on the MID, so guessing it's not leaking :-X

Found that I have a P0420 code  :(

What puzzles me is that I don't have the spanner light as a consequence :-\ (and it does have a bulb fitted so there  :P)

So long as the light stays off for the MOT I won't worry too much. I think it might be triggered by running on different fuel when we went on holiday so imagine it shouldn't happen again before the next MOT :-\

EML won't matter for Mot as long as emission limits are met :y
