Mmm. Plod electrics thinks I. Much frustration will it cause. Consume you, it will.
Consume the battery more like ;D About 120 amps fused on there :-X

The frustration probably won't start until I power it up... ::)

Both on the money though :y

Not quite today but Saturday I discovered the reason for the occasional misfire on cylinder 1..

At some point in the past the rubber boot on plug one had been trapped between plug top and coil pack spring contact - much arcing has ensued and the boot is now a crumbled mess.

Same story on cylinder 2, too..

Given the state of it I have no idea how it was running as well as it was!

Productive morning for a change, and also in the sun 8)

Traced the reason for the Headlight Field warning that has been plaguing me for weeks now.Damaged middle wire at the plug and also a split further up the loom almost into the wheel arch liner. All repaired and soldered so atleast that part of the fault is fixed, although now have fault message for brake pads yet again despite soldering in a new plug for that some months ago. >:(

It seems the wiring in that part of the wheel arch is very very fragile and the cores just perish by looking at them.Perhaps I have just disturbed something and it wil settle down after a few starts.

Had the exact same issue with mine late on last night (still got me home though). Tubes are all now super-glued where they were split and working well! think I need some new tubes though  ::) I'm told it's caused by sitting in oil when the top gasket fails
