Changed rear wheel bearing, even tho i have a bad cold,i dont do man flu, also sorted out a sensor connector that i replaced on the air temperature sensor, used scotchlocks to connect wires at the time (i know they are not good),so removed and soldered them together and its cured my erratic idle problem and also cold start problem where she didnt want to run right until warmed up.
Back to bed with a hot drink now .....

Found out it's still leaking coolant >:( on the plus side, it doesn't seem to be in the drivers footwell ;D

ooh - I might need a taxi from Gatwick on night of 12th March? Shall I bring wellies??
Diary clear for the 12 atm :y

Wellies not required though, unless you like wearing them... :D

That's to say, the Insignia doesn't leak...

I think its pointless accepting less grip, because 1st off you won't accept less grip, period. 2nd you'll still drive at the same level, and over drive a longer lasting tyre, wearing them out quicker anyway.

Suggesting slowing down is pointless ;D so yes, off to RT's with you, and stop messing about ;D
I am slower since smashing her car up  :-[

Diagnosed a knackered battery, using one Mr Wood's excellent guide, on a Fiat Punto. Was an excuse to buy a shiny new multimeter, and thus go to Machine Mart. Walking about trying to justify new alloy trolley jacks and titanium widget adjusters...

tried a satin blacked alloy out.looks quite smart methinks and is helped by the pre-facelifts having a lot a black trim anyway.

Put everything back together after picking up a new coil pack from the honourable member above, and then checked the header tank...

Well you can try... but the word filter might blow up...

At least you know what it is and how to cure it, small consolation such as that it is :-\

AR35 changed and is perfect, many thanks to RobG for supplying the box and JamesV6 for his efforts in doing an excellent job,and many thanks to the Metropolitan police workshops and my local VX dealers 'skilled technicians' for screwing up on previous repairs which came to light when prepping for the job in hand....caused James a bit of grief but he cracked on and put things right. :y :y

Had cambelt kit and new header tank fitted. Then took it and gave it a good wash and polish inside and out. :y

Its not a bad job, as long as you don't need to rely on the car (takes the pressure off having to complete it).

The only advice (other than don't drive it) is...

...DO NOT BEND THE OIL PIPES  :-[
