Pulled the passenger side head off of the engine I removed from my MV6 18 months ago.

As I thought - severe head gasket failure  ;)

If you Elite an MV6, does that make it an MVee-leet?

No I missed that.  ::) £4.99 for 5 litres of blackcurrent concentrate, which will last for ages as I'm stingy with it!  :D  It's too much like cordial for my liking though, so keep it away from the kids!!  ;)

Drove it for 2 miles at <cough!> 70 MPH this morning.

Then it occurred to me that I don't remember getting the torque wrench out to torque up the wheel nuts after the weekend's fettling. So, out with the wheel brace in the next layby. :-[

Got that T shirt too :-[ had some welding done to the front passenger footwell on one of my Granadas, nsf wheel off for access... afterwards drove over 6 miles trying to work out why the steering was all over the place and where the horrendous clonk was coming from... fortunately I still had four of the wheel nuts ::)

These had been buzzed up with the impact wrench with the wheels in the air before lowering and final torquing, then I noticed something else that needed doing while it was off its' wheels, and another thing, and another, then it was dinner time, so dropped it off the jacks and called it a night... ::)

A mate and I whilst working in Zimbabwe took a truck for a test drive that someone else had been working on.  ::)  My mate was driving and started complaining that the steering was funny so we pulled over to find that the front wheelnuts hadn't been torqued up and were veeeeery loose and in some cases about to drop off!  :o  :D

All we could find on board was a pair of mole grips so it was a very slow journey home!!  ::)  ;D

Been there done that. Muscat corniche mid 1970's. Picked the car (Fiat 128?) up from the garage. Heard knocking. Went to a party. Driving home someone pulled up alongside. Passenger front wheel was gone. They gave me a lift home. Needless to say I'd had a tipple or two otherwise I might have noticed.  :y
