I need to go to work at 2am next morning, hopefully 70 miles drive will burn oil residue away...if not - I guess I'll order a genuine gasket (the one in the video is aftermarket part which came with the car...owner never had the will to do it so I gave it a go)

Put the wheel back on the bus, then abandoned it in a carpark.

Picked up the Bullet ready for a trip to Londonium tomorrow.

If it dosn't clear up, check all the edges on the cam cover are still nice and straight as they tend to go out of shape over time or if over tightened.  ;)

Tried to drive it to the radio club and back but a combination of closed roads and lack of sensible diversion signage cost me about a third of a tank of LPG and 3mm of rear tyre tread. >:(

Possibly broken it :-\ heavy vibration from rear of the drivetrain when moving...

Suspect rear prop donut... but driveway and jack currently blocked with a three legged Insignia ::)

LOL yeah me too :)

Am a 2E meself (well according to OFCOM am a 20 now) but don't use the radio as much as I should really...

Iv got a Yaesu dualbander FT5200 in the Miggy, a Yaesu FT840 HF with FM board fitted, Yaesu FRG100 HF receiver < both these coupled to a 1/2 size G5RV running E/W down the back garden. I also have a FT290R (I know) which has the Mutek front end fitted for better receive... I also have a Baofeng handheld which is ruddy excellent at what it does especially for £35....!!!

I started when I inherited my Dads radio equipment and had to do something with it as all it was doing was gathering dust... so sat my M and then progressed onto the 2E... not 100% sure about going for the Advanced but if I do I will be having my Dads call who was G6INT... :)

Ahh, good stuff.  :y

I'm a  G7. Got my license back in 1988 and went out and bought... yes, an FT290R. ;D If you haven't owned one of those...

I also don't do a lot of operating. I belong to a contest group who pull all the stops out for VHF/UHF field day (40kVA generator, couple of 100' towers, legal limit + "feeder loss" on every band and we drink a LOT of beer) and that is my fix for the year. We actually won it in 2012.  :-[

At home I have an Elecraft K2/100 which I built from the kit plus their 2M transverter and auto ATU. I have a 4 ele quad on 2M and a reasonably good takeoff to the south. 3rd contact I made on 2M was an EB1!

I also have a Baofeng. Local club member did a bulk buy and it seemed silly not to at that price!

Keep meaning to put my HF wire back up. Next weekend's job, then, before all the leaves are back on the tree.  ;D

If I get round to it, we'll have to try and establish contact. :y

Current projects are trying to build some proficiency in morse and I am trying to breathe some life into an old basket case Heathkit HW-9 CW TCVR I picked up at a junk sale partially completed. Maybe I and it will be in decent enough fettle to have a QSO one day. ;D

So vented brake discs and calipers arrived yesterday ready for me to fit today (converted from solid discs) - which went easy TBH... all working, everything stops as it should and HB adjusted to work well.... 1 less job for the MoT... only problem I had was undoing the brake pipe nut thingymajigger, the proper brake pipe spanner, just kept slipping and was starting to round off the nut, so Mr Molegrip came into play.... he sorted the buggers out LOL  :y  ???

Took a look at a suspect inner rear arch.... as I suspected, a massive hole there where there shouldn't be one.... bugger... started to clean up the area ready to start to weld to it, only problem is the wire wheel attachment used on the grinder has kinda made a bad situation a damn sight worse, so now have to weld and plate more than a I was intending to do, but at least I know it'll be solid and ready for the MoT on Friday.... I hope LOL
