It was MoT day for the Elite and after putting 4 new tyres on and checking all the brakes and lights, the very nice man(not) at the MoT test station failed it on O/S front wheel bearing rough when rotated !! Also 2 advisory items

1 front brake pads wearing thin ( 5 mm left on all pads, new ones are 11 mm thick) ? So just under 50% worn !!!!
2 front to rear brake pipes greased ( I know I did it yesterday)

Went home to check bearing which when disc removed runs as smooth as you like.

New bearing on its way for the morning, I'm also fitting new discs and pads as I have a set here. The old discs still have 1.6 mm to go to minimum thickness of 25 mm.

After car passes tomorrow afternoon I think I may be having a word with the very nice man who does MoT.

When you know that the advisories are an arse covering exercise, you simply ignore them.

:o  I've been emptying half of can of white grease on mine every year before MOT time and never been picked up  ::)
Sounds a little over keen to me

I don't mind a little over keen if it's something I have missed, but I have been an engineer for many years now and it gets to me when items are picked up so the garage thinks they are going to make a few quid when it's not needed.

Dash out , replace 5 blown bulbs and a bit of soldering on the circuit board .. downside the air bag bulb was permanently on  ::) Fixed that , just a loose wire  :)
