Drove my nice car about 50 miles to collect the relative ,to collect the Crapisso from the "clutch specialist"
I spoke on the Crapisso owners behalf (he has no understanding of technical matters)
they did say sorry and admitted they made a mistake
said they where going to discipline the person involved for the lack of bolts
i spoke to the senior technician to check what had been done today
he assured me that he checked the flywheel,input shaft,clutch etc replaced the bolts etc
and replaced the starter motor with a brand new one (damaged /missing teeth) F.O.C
they waved the recovery costs to get the car back to their workshop to fix it .
they did however NOT offer any compensation for the cost of hire car,gear oil over the block paving ,inconvenience of it all
did not bother to clean or re-fit the engine under tray in the boot .
I have told the owner to first contact the clutch place's head office ,to see if they will compensate.before going to trading standards/small claims court.
I did however get the cash for the bucket i squashed
so all's well that ends well
