Not allowed to do any car work until Monday.
Son is getting married on Sunday, and apparently hands and finger nails ingrained with oil doesnt look good on Wedding pics.  ::)

I've always had a phobia about weddings.  Horrendously expensive things and as you say, dull as dishwater.  ::)

Unless the bride gets caught shagging the photographer or something!  ;D

At which point you probably won't want to be the groom...

Took SWMBO to Newmarket this afternoon so she could have a wander around the shops.
I went there a couple of weeks back, took mum out for mothers day :)

When I drove past Barnsleyfield a couple of weeks ago, fuel was readily available.  I noticed every car was a Kia as well.  What a tight thrifty lot you all are ;D

Not realising there was a shortage this way, I just chucked in £40 in Berwick to get home.  Now I've just about used all that. Wish I'd filled the bugger up there ;D

I've taken to filling up at 3/4 rather than light on. Putting £40 a time in feels better than £150... And I know that if I need to get somewhere I have the fuel to do it.

Ouch! £150 a fill used to be the preserve of range rover owners.

We've been giving the milk float some serious hammer. Despite the energy price increase it still knocks the piston cars into a cocked hat.

The last time I put fuel in my ML was at Costco the other week. It was just about empty, the £99 limit at the pump just filled it to 3/4 of a tank.  :'(

It needs to be £200 a tank to make an EV affordable, assuming cheap electric to fill it, but that completely ignores the range issue. Just enough to get from the house to work and back simply won't do. And it needs to be £300 a tank to justify the entry cost of an EV with anything like a 300 mile range.

The other elephant in the EV lounge is usable charge range... ie that window between 20 and 80% to keep the battery happy. An effective capacity of 60% brings the range down to sub 200 miles, which is unacceptable for a £50k plus purchase.

A hybrid is a much more viable proposition.
