Up early this morning for my first speed awareness course ::)
.

I've done a couple , quite enjoyable apart from there always seems to be one participant who wants to babble on , he was told to shut the f**k up during the coffee break, as the rest of us just wanted it done & dusted.

Is that on the famous JLR "lie like a timex" fuel computer? Or reality?

For reference, the last fill up in mine gave me a brim to brim manual MPG of 32MPG.  Which I was quite pleased with ;D

They are a nice engine, despite being mostly French.

IIRC, the EU6 300bhp version needs an oil change every 3 miles due to dilution. Not that that would cause you too much hassle, apart from having to deal with the local knuckle draggers doing it.

Is it still the L494? Kinda lost track over the last couple of years as to what is still current.

Phish taking aside, although the outside of the Velar was not to my taste - and I couldn't really put my finger on why - I really did like the interior, and the ride was pretty good.

Maybe one for a few years, when they are affordable 2nd hand, seeing as I think I've talked myself out of a real Range Rover on size grounds...   ...unless I move ;D

Isn't the straight six purely JLR, being a modular addition to their four cylinder engines? The same way that BMWs 3,6 and 6 cylinders are all inline instead of a mishmash of straight and vee motors.

All management car servicing is now done at CB, but this is not the French lump

Ah, be interesting to see how that goes :)

The froggy lump, aside from all the plastic bits splitting = like TB, intakes and coolant outlets - seems quite reliable (DPF shenanigans on EU6 ones aside).  Lets hope the JLR one is every bit as good, complete with plastics that don't split along the seams due to crap manufacturing quality.
