2 new Runway Enduro Sport tyres on the Monsit.
The shit I have had over the years for even suggesting such a thing :D

 ;D

If I remember correctly, Runway Enduros were highly rated in some of the great tyre threads of yonder.  :)
Indeed they were and I put my money where my mouth was... Must have had five or six sets of them :y

Ah yes, £50 for an 8mm Allen key with the end sawn off.  ;D
I was looking at getting one of those adapters that fits a ratchet spanner and takes screwdriver bits.  I did have one, but it probably orbiting Jupiter at the moment....
Sealey do a reasonably priced set with both 3/8 and 1/2 adaptors.
Won't be room for a normal ratchet I suspect, hence a screwdriver bit in a ratchet spanner :)
They're a 10mm hex in two lengths, so a Flexi 10mm ratchet spanner should make light work of it ;)

This  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362391520745 is the set I have.
I found the right adapter, so ordered one :)

I drove somebody's Omega with them on...   ...for about 2 miles, then decided not to drive it any further ;D.  Can't remember whose car? Lazydocker's maybe?  Or DG's ex plod?  I do remember it was an estate....

Just driven it home ( Subaru) after new timing belt & water pump being fitted, should hopefully get a few more years out of it !

Finally got around to the oil change on the Focus that I had intended to do at the beginning of July, but put off for family reasons. It makes me miss working on Capris, where it isn't necessary to jack the car or remove an undertray just to get to the drain plug and oil filter.

Unless it rains tomorrow, the job is a replacement back-box on Deb's Golf.

Both cars had them fitted and neither one could ever claim an easy life ;D

Completed the installation of the Distronic loom, just the switch and grill to fit to be able to use it.

Also finally got around to checking the codes. A shed load of historic low voltage codes across the car, but the only current codes are directly related to the front seat dynamic lumbar, aka massage seats. Need to get a smoke machine to pinpoint a leak and potentially a replacement pneumatic pump. So pretty pleased with that.

Only other issue is the rear windows not working, but that was a known fault when I bought it and is a software problem.

Does this stuff need coding in, or does the car recognise it once the hardwares in?

Code reader can see the two modules that I have fitted and read them for codes and ident numbers.

For the reverse camera to work, the 'head unit' needs coding to switch the camera on so that it can see the camera (pun intended).

Currently cruise is disabled because the car recognises the disconnect between the standard cruise switch and the Distronic one. It may also ask for a calibration check, but the ECU/sensor is used so should need minimal set up. The grill replacement is required because the standard grill has metal parts directly in front of the sensor. So once the switch is fitted, it may work but throw up a complaint about being obstructed.

When I get around to it, the tow bar may well need coding to work with the parking sensors and rear lights. And the night vision should work as fitted, but again may require calibration.

The other advantage of getting everything coded to the car is that it gets added to the build data if done correctly  ;)

Fair play, that's quite the job list!

Will that be a fully loaded s class by the time you've done?

Pretty much. All the things not on the list are LWB items such as rear seat entertainment and heated/cooled memory rear seats.

About the only thing left that I might add will be a TV tuner and possibly different wheels.

It didn't rain, so I jacked up the Golf ready to fit the new back box. And for a change, something went right, because all it needed was the clamp loosening and the old one slipped back onto the front pipe. It went on a lot further than it had been previously, so hopefully it will stay on this time. Which just goes to show that proper diagnosis is a time and effort saver, as  did that the day after Mum's funeral when I wasn't really in the right frame of mind.

And Deb can return the new part she bought, saving £80 :y
