The French drivers, outside of Paris, are generally good. Even in big congested cities like Lyon, people aren't constantly lane changing in traffic jams to try to get a few feet ahead...

They've quietened down a bit then since I last drove there.

And another....

The one that pretends he didn't see the lane closed ahead signs for the last three miles and then tries to push his way in just before he hits the cones >:(

Thats cobblers, why not go the the front of the queue and merge in turn, if you did it would reduce the length of the jam, even more so if the traffic is allowed to merge in turn!!!

If your sitting a mile back in the queue and theres nothing in the outside lane all you are doing is moving the queue further down the road, and meaning itll take longer to get through the road works.

And the stupid lorries who block the lanes miles before the roadworks are even worse!

Another thing that annoys me is people who do 40 in a national speed limit zone then continue to drive through a 30 zone still doing 40!

People who return to their car after paying for their petrol, then take ages before driving off when I'm waiting to fill up.  >:(

Drivers who swing right before taking a left turn!  ::)(in a car, not a truck)

Minicab drivers who think they can stop where and when they want to let a fare out.

Able bodied people who park in disabled bays then get aggressive when asked to move.

People who get in the outside lane at trafic lights then set off at a snails pace.

Drivers who won't overtake a police car doing 65mph on the motorway.

Alas, I would have to disagree with this, as the cars have to come to a standstill to allow merge, as already at restriction.  If you're fully merged by, for example, the 800yrd marker, traffic can remain flowing through the restriction.  Any stops at restriction, will result in bigger tailback further back.

Guess who cot a City & Guilds in traffic management. And another in setting up traffic lights?

Some drivers appear to need to slow read receipt, then perform a full pfc (Pre Flight Check) before pulling off  >:(

Having driven many a mile on motorways in my time, I have to say the most irritating of trends is using the middle and RHL when there's nothing in lane 1!!!

I'm positively anal about my lane discipline and am incensed on a regular basis by the nuggets doing sub60 in lanes 2 & 3 when there's about a mile of clear road in lane 1.

Guess where you'll find me?

The other thing that rattles my cage, is when I do need to change lanes to overtake, the assholes in lane 2 close the gap up because they've got the arse that I dared undertake them!! Sorry muppet, I'm the one using the road properly!!  >:(

If they'd only realise that once I've passed the object in lane 1, I'll go back there and be out their way!!

I could go on and on and on!! My final word is that a) the driving test isn't strict enough, and b) there's too much emphasis on busting people for breaking the speed limit by a few miles an hour when there's much more inconsiderate, (not to mention dangerous!), driving going on and nothing being done about it!!

as far as tailgaiting goes do you think that maybe you are not going fast enough, i always pull over where possible and let em off. no offence to any of ye

Sorry, but I have to strongly disagree.

If I'm travelling dead on the correct speed limit taking into account the road, traffic and whether conditions, they have no right tailgating and are just ARSEHOLES.

No, I totally disagree with this. If I am overtaking someone who is in lane 2 doing 60mph, usually a lorry and I am doing 70mph in lane 3, there is no justifyable reason for any brain dead numpty to be driving 8ft behind me. Once I have passed the lorry and gained a safe distance in front I return to lane 2 and then lane 1.

Tailgating is illegal under ALL circumstances. It is highly dangerous, irresponsible and unacceptable ever.

Trust me, I know what I am talking about here.

And another.........

I have to use a lot of "B" road across country driving to and from work and one of the most INFURIATING things I come across are drivers (particularly women - sorry lady Omega drivers) that think cars are not designed to go round bends and end up braking for every damn bend or kink in the road. This is even worse on dark evenings as their bl**dy brake lights are flashing on and off like disco lights!! >:( >:( >:(

what really gets up my nose is the people who drive at 40mph EVERYWARE!!

40mph in town
40mph in a village

40mph on 60 road...

I was following someone the other day, on wide 60 limit road were most people do 65/70.... 40 all the way... hit the 30 limit, i slow. They continue at the same speed  >:(

Oh and middle lane hoggin at night, many times i fly past people in the inside lane who are sitting in the middle lane, and this is not illegal if you stay in the inside lane and not move out after passing them

And it's usually some brain dead kid in a clapped out 1.0ltr Fiesta who is totaly unware an Omega can outbrake him.

Some time ago I was travelling on the M5 overtaking in the centre lane at 70,  traffic howling past me in the outside lane when a BMW overtook me with a Fiesta right up his boot, the Beemers brake lights came on, the Fiesta stamped on his brakes, hit the centre reservation, bounced off, careered through the traffic on the inside 2 lanes, and came to a halt on the incline on the grass verge.

How he didn't hit anyone else I do not know. But at least he may think twice about doing it again.
