While searching for my coolant leak, I spotted a little vacuum pipe at the front of the engine, sort of at the bottom, below the air filter box, which was not attached to anything, and had a 13A fuse stuck up its end to block it.

It is the length of a similarly routed pipe which goes to a roughly 6" x 6" x 2" box.

What is this pipe and where should it be.

If needs be I can get a photo.

It looks like the front vac resivoir, mine has 1 pipe to it, should it have 2 and this is the 2nd?

What effect would it not being connected (or reconnected) have?

It should have two connected, you are correct.  One of mine snapped when I last took it off, I recconected it my shoving it into the vac tank through the hole that the pipe left when it broke.

Sealed it with a bit of spray adhesive, its in there working and not leaking - I would say you need to get that plugged back in to get the car to behave as it should be..

Now to work out how to fix broken connector.

I found mine was broken, so i found a 2" long piece of hard plastic of a suitable diameter to fit snugly into the vacuum pipe, cleaned up the broken hole in the resevoir, then using araldite, glued the "new" stub into place.  Job done all for a few pence.

Im thinking something similar.....Or get one from a broken meega

Want a few other bits as well, so may do a parts wanted ad.

What changed when it was fixed? Better low rev performance?
