You should be ok man, just as long as u can get those clips off you will be ok, i have a long flexy tool that bends any where just slide it over and pull the handle..
If your doing the job then my advise is buy one mate because yo cud have the job done in 30 minz with it..

Well the job got done yesterday, I had a go, but just could'nt get the grips into release the clips :(, so it was call Razzo who kindly came down yesterday morning (top man :y), However, in between me calling Razzo at around 9a.m., one of my guests got up around 9.40 a.m. came out an had a look and got the job done (he is a mechanic :-[), did'nt take him too long, ended up with a few scars. Anyway job done no more leaks, interestingly enough the old HBV has no signs of say cracks in the plastic, so how do these manage to fail, something pack up inside?

It's prob collapsed inside mate and just run out the over flow hole or the join in the plastic...

Glad you got it fixed mate, they do do a tool to anable the removal of those clips by just sliding the end over and squeezing the handle...

Well done thou bud  :y problem solved  :y

Do you mean this type of thing?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BERGEN-TOOLS-REMOTE-ACCESS-HOSE-CLIP-TOOL-630MM-Length_W0QQitemZ200184616175QQihZ010QQcategoryZ30922QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Thats the boy.... makes life so simple...

Right call me daft :-[, but I just bought one of these, just in case for the future, but for the life of me can't work out how these are supposed to work in terms of releasing the clips, the remote bit moves in the opposite direction when pulled not doing nothing to the actual pliers????

Erm, I would hazard a guess that the 'pliers' are supposed to move the remote bit, not vice versa.  :y

Thats exactly what it does do, I just tried it on a clip on the car, for the life of me just can't see how it actually works, better of with a pair of mole grips :-/

The best solution I have found is a pair of small mole grips (although mine are not pink ;))

I did buy some hose clip pliers but they don't help much as the real problems arise where access is difficult.

Thing to be careful of is that there are several different types of 'hose clips' - eg the ones on the breather hoses would need a completely different type of pliers to the HBV ones, so need to buy the right ones..
