With my recently purchased Omega were two full remote locking/alarm keys,  but one is u/s and the other requires a replacement outer casing (where you push the buttons).

Vx only supply the batteries (no spares available) and a local specialist wants £100+ to provide and code in a new key.

Any advise please on a)  where I could acquire spare parts for both keys b) if the transponder from another key (ex-scrape car; the chip is in the main metal casing that would be retained) could be programmed in, or c) something else please?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice/info :D

Just bought an Omega and knew both keys didn't work remotely. The rubber is split but I hoped it would just be the batteries so stripped them down and the open switch on one is loose inside the housing so needs resoldering, and both where gunked up.

Manage to get the other one to work on locking and boot open but only every now and again to open.

So Questions.....

If I buy a replacement key and just swop the remote part over, then synkronize it should it work?

Is the guy on here still repairing the switches and if so how much we looking at?

Sorry for being newish and probably a bit dim but I've only had the car 24 hours so just trying to get to grips with all the techy info  ;D

Thanks  :y

See earlier in this thread and PM to Martin Imber. He fixed one of my keys a couple of months ago, excellent job.
