NEVER, I stick to all speed limits, i have had first hand experiance on what speed does, IT KILLS.
No it doesn’t! Stopping does! (No seriously) when speed limits were decided cars ran drum brakes and road surfaces were rubbish. To stop a car from 70 quickly wasn’t an easy job, now even the most incompetent driver in a semi modern car can stop allot quicker than what the Highway Code says.
tbh i don’t really bother with speed limit's, i drive within my limit, which unlike a sign, change very regularly depending on traffic, conditions etc. im not saying i drive everywhere at full throttle, but there’s a 2 mile dual carriage way near my house which goes between 2 industrial estates, its signposted as a 30mph, now fair enough during the day it is quite busy with truck etc, but after business hours its dead! There’s a road at either side with no access to the main road and a grass verge in-between so if anything was coming towards the road for either direction you could see it with enough time to take action. On that road you can very safely drive at 60mph with no problem. Now on the same par, if im driving past a school ill sit at 20mph or lower.
If the government want more people to pay attention to speed limits, they need to make them more realistic!
